YMCA Centre for Immigrant Programs Colchester County

YREACH

When you register with YREACH, settlement staff can arrange a free English-language assessment for eligible clients. This will place you in the right English language class for your level. Once you have had your assessment, you can take English-language classes for free. You can take these classes in person or online. Classes are offered at various times during the week.

Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS)

ISANS offers language training, translation and interpretation for their registered clients. These are some of the services they offer:

  • English-language classes
  • preparation for English-language testing
  • including IELTS and CELBAN
  • translations of documents needed for settlement in Nova Scotia
  • language interpretation for people receiving
  • ISANS settlement services and medical care received outside the hospital

The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia (ATINS)

ATINS members adhere to a code of ethics. All certified members have passed the CTTIC examination. This is the level of certification you need when you are getting documents translated for immigration purposes. ATINS website makes it easy to find a translator or interpreter for the language you need.
