Rotary Club of Truro

The Rotary Club of Truro contributes to community and international projects through fundraising. They have recently raised funds for the following projects:

  • Camp Tidnish, a summer camp for children with disabilities
  • Portapique Community BuildUp + Project
  • A community workshop now called Delaney House
  • The Colchester East Hants Health Centre
  • Polio Plus, a campaign to end polio around the world

Truro and District Lions Club

The Truro and District Lions Club is a chapter of Lions Clubs International. The club works to improve the quality of life for these people:

  • seniors
  • youth
  • people with disabilities
  • people in financial need
  • people who need help with medical care

United Way of Colchester

The United Way is a charity focused on funding local non-profit organizations. Recently, the charity has given funds to these organizations:

  • Autism Nova Scotia
  • Bridges Institute
  • Colchester Adult Learning Association

Other Support Services

Colchester Community Support Society

The society provides food to those in need. Two service clubs operate a food bank garden. This allows the society to provide fresh produce as well as packaged goods.

The society protects the privacy of those who use its services.

John Howard Society of Nova Scotia

The goal of the John Howard Society is to respond humanely to the causes and consequences of crime. They offer mental health and social support to criminalized people.
