Bridges Institute

The Bridges Institute is a counselling centre for families. They specialize in domestic abuse and anger management. They also offer counselling to men, women, and children struggling in these areas:

  • stress
  • trust

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) – Colchester East Hants Branch

The CMHA supports people living with and recovering from mental illness. It provides a resource centre for those with mental illness and their support people, advocates for their rights, and educates the public about mental illness.

ElevateHER Mental Health Support Services Canada

ElevateHER offers mental health support for people who identify as female. More than mental health services, they also offer these services:

  • help for those looking for work
  • support for new moms
  • help for people recovering from addiction
  • help for people who have been trafficked or exploited
  • programs for young people

Colchester Sexual Assault Centre

The Colchester Sexual Assault Centre supports everyone affected by sexual violence. They offer services to all genders and cultural identities. These are some of the services they offer:

  • free counselling
  • support
  • education

The centre offers a safe space for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. It also works closely with Truro Pride.

Colchester East Hants Hospice Society

The Hospice Society provides grief support on a one-to-one basis and in group sessions.

Third Place Transition House

This transition house is a 10-bed shelter for women and children fleeing violence. They offer these services:

  • 6-week stays
  • counselling supports, advocacy, and referrals
  • outreach and family support
  • public education and community partnerships
